Classic military bikes on a gorgeous day in Norfolk GB.

Kenneth writes in:

Steve,
These were seen at the Ingworth Trosh here in Norfolk, GB. I’d forgotten to take my camera so you can thank my daughter Eleanor for the pictures.
The BSA M20 is in reproduction British Army Desert Rat livery.
The Peugeot is something I’ve never seen before. The owner was trundling around the field on it and it was licensed for road use.
Just in case you’re wondering, “trosh” is a Norfolk dialect word for thresh(as in threshing wheat) and these days a trosh is any celebration held at the end of the harvest. Ingworth is a small village in North Norfolk and its annual trosh is a fete involving vintage machinery like a steam traction engine operating an early 20th Century belt driven combined harvester, old tractors, amazing old stationary farm engines and almost anything else anyone cares to bring along including vintage cars and bikes. There are ploughing and shearing demonstrations, a medieval re-enactment group and the local amateur radio society. There’s also lots of tea and delicious cakes.

Three new pics from Robie Pruden our Northwest correspondent!

Robbie consider the position filled! You are now the NW correspondent to MCPOTD. Unfortunately there’s no pay or benefits but you do get to go riding a lot and practice your camera skills!

Steve ,
Here’s 3 more from the LeMay show

(Let’s see if William Ferry bites!) Oh good one – ed

1) A very “washed” Cafe racer
2) A very busy Moto Guzzi
3) A 1949 triumph T100

I’m Applying for a new position as NW correspondant to Mcpotd.

In this shot you HAVE to appreciate the commitment to the genre when they cast a clutch cover to match the theme!  Must be a great ride!

I’ve heard these referred to as a cheese slicer for the flywheel on the other side.

That’s just gorgeous!

A very VERY fine Honda Cafe from the UK.

From David Morgan

Alright Lads,

Just managed to tear myself away from your site, inspirational, moving, funny and a damn good read.
Thought I’d attach a couple of pics of my latest creation, this one I will keep.

Full build file and pics / vids made so I can reminisce and pass on what ever info may be needed.

Good one, keep it up,
Dave.

Replica of the first “motorcycle” ever..

Yes it’s open to “interpretation” and debate (click for timeline) on several factors but if I recall my high school class presentation correctly (I got a A since the teacher was a motorhead) this is a replica of what is generally regarded to be the first ICE (Internal Combustion Engined) motorcycle ever built by none other than Gottlieb Daimler (of Daimler Benz fame).  This particular photo is from the Pebble Beach album of Steve Ginn whom I’ve followed and borrowed from a few times over the years.  Click throug for lots of other great shots.

CORRECTION! It’s an Arctic Cat powered 2 stroke street legal drag bike!

UPDATE:  Sorry about that Brent.

From Brent and Tammy Soper. Bike seen in THIS earlier post

Heres a current picture of me laying down a pass on my Suzuki VX with its Arctic Cat 900 triple sled engine. Only went 10.61@121 mph, not too bad for its second run ever. Launched real good did a 1.495 60′ time. Ran out of gear by the 1000′ mark so another tooth on the front sprocket is a must and get jetting right.

Very respectable for such a wild experimental build! That tire looks to be getting a nice bite on launch. Please keep us posted as you keep dialing her in!

Video Reminder. Be carefull out there this weekend.

Stuff like this really pisses me off. I once almost planted my front wheel at 70mph on the interstate when a big flatbed dropped 5 or 6 pieces of sod right in front of me. I had a friend get killed years ago from a ladder falling out of a truck on a bridge. Remember, there is a lot of shit not tied down and this is the second busiest weekend for people moving all year. Ride safe folks!

In the spirit of the Holiday Weekend!

Alexander Hernandez on his way to Sturgis.  Now I have that little tune from “Close Encounters”  in my head. LOL!

Summer is winding down up here in the Northern Hemisphere. Get out and Ride! And take some pics!
Have a great weekend folks!

UPDATE! Mystery bike. I have no clue.

We have a winner from the comments:
Chris Saddler Sam commented:

DKW Hummel Victoria (google it!)

Hell of a catch!

Warren Wood sends in this mystery bike… Interesting but not a clue on my part.

Mystery bike in Paranesti,Thrace, Greece. —also— my ancient [1989?] Honda AX1 250cc while on tour of the Rodolpi Mts, same area.

A hugely underappreciated little Honda

Robie Pruden is back with some really interesting bikes from the LEmay Museum motorcycle show.

Steve, Here’s a few from the vintage bike show last weekend

1) Nicest build there IMHO
2) Look close ! A tracker for the street
3) Cushman scooter as promised
Of course lots of vintage stuff. 1st year for this show at the LEmay Museum. Next year should be better.

Thanks
Robie Pruden

An XS650 hybrid dirtbike. I absolutely LOVE this build. I’ve mapped out a similar build a few times over the years. Glad to see it could have worked.

Gotta love street legal trackers!

Wow…  just wow..  I can’t figure out what that engine is.  Any guesses?

Time to get caught up on some recent e-mails. The latest from Murph!

Hey Steve,

Murph here. I’m STILL in Holland, or put another way, still in a country where gas is $10 a gallon.

Meanwhile, I ran into a friend over here who new of another friend who has some nice old iron, a pair of Indians, a 1921 & 1930 Indian Scouts and also an unusual and rare Cees Fick Vincent, so I thought it might be of interest to some of your readers. it’s an interesting article, full of intrigue, depression, schizophrenia, homosexuality, pedophelia and castration.

Hope is well with you, all the best and the next set of pictures I’ll be sending you will be of my new completed BMW 2 Wheel Drive Sidecar outfit. We’re almost finished final assembly and ready to start it up and test ride it.

Regards to you and hi to all the readers looking at this post and a big thanks to you for coming over to my blog.

Best to you all from Holland,

Murph.
