Yes it’s open to “interpretation” and debate (click for timeline) on several factors but if I recall my high school class presentation correctly (I got a A since the teacher was a motorhead) this is a replica of what is generally regarded to be the first ICE (Internal Combustion Engined) motorcycle ever built by none other than Gottlieb Daimler (of Daimler Benz fame).  This particular photo is from the Pebble Beach album of Steve Ginn whom I’ve followed and borrowed from a few times over the years.  Click throug for lots of other great shots.
