Nicely modified Yamaha RZ500. For me this borders on pernography.

SteveF over on the 2strokeworld message board posted up this stunner.

From that post:

An “Ugly Motorbikes” Free Plug.

A decent take on an XS750..

To whom it may concern,

This 77′ Yamaha XS750 has received a full treatment makeover into UGLY Motor Bikes view of a cafe racer. The kick/electric start motor has had the top end rebuilt with custom engraved handcrafted velocity stacks and a custom 3-3 baffled exhaust. With these modification, the bike has an aggressive tuned exhaust note. The custom metal tail features a single offset tail/brake light, and a frenched start button. The seat, grips, and pegs are wrapped in Nigerian calf leather with a slightly aged look applied. To achieve the desired stance the front forks have been internally lowered 1 ½” and 1” in the triples. With this being the first Yamaha triple having built/worked on, they hold true to their rep of being a stubborn bike, but once they are tuned and massaged they are outstanding bikes. This XS750 has great smooth power and the riders smiles grows with every twist of the throttle. Continuing in UGLY’s style of minimalism and focus on design, this XS750 pulls it’s weight, and is a welcomed addition the UGLY Motor Bikes family.

The bike is currently on sale for a steal at http://www.seaweedandgravel.com

We hope you enjoy as much as did building this on of a kind Yamaha XS750.

Wow! I think I need another air cooled 2 stroke Yamaha.

Except for the handlebars (it’s an age thing) this is about as “realistically” tempting as it gets for me!

A fairly radical Yamaha based “XTX” cafe mystery bike…

UPDATE: LINK TO THE BUILD THREAD Thank you Eric from the comments!

Over the years I’ve started following different photo albums on the web and I get periodic e-mail updates on activity. I’ve lost track of who’s who but every once in a while I get a nice surprise. This bike has a more complete album over on Google Picasa HERE. I have no further information other than the pictures. Can anyone name that engine? BIG single cylinder liquid cooled Yamaha. I don’t think it’s a US sold model.

The last of a breed! The Yamaha YZ250 two stroke! I just wanted to say thanks to Yamaha…

… for having the smarts to still build and sell a decent sized 2 stroke MX bike! I wager that they still sell at fair clip. I’m surprised that they don’t have an enduro version to go with it. Except for KTM (as far as I can tell) they are pretty much alone.

A spectacular Yamaha TDR. Motard before it even existed.

The “legendary” PDXjim TDR. As seen on ADV Rider.

A Repsol Goldwing and other strange creations from the Seattle, Backfire Moto motorcycle rally.

Sometimes I’m jealous of people who live in places that have seasons. Don’t get me wrong, living in Florida has perks not the least of which is year round (mostly anyway) riding weather. But sometimes I get jealous of those folks who live in places with big climate changes. It allows them a few months to simply concentrate on their latest project without the nagging guilt that they could actually be out riding instead of wrenching. It’s that thought that struck me when I was notified by Google that Steve Ginn had updated his latest online albums with some shots of the Seattle, September 19 Backfire Moto motorcycle rally. He’s also got other some fantastic albums.  Anyway, it occurred to me that any spontaneous gathering of such eclectic brands here in North Florida would be quite difficult to organize because A) we’re sorta segregated here when it comes to brands and styles and B) our projects are never “finished” because we’re usually out riding instead of wrenching.

Anyway here’s just a taste of some of the bikes in his album. Hit the link above to go see the whole thing.

The worlds smoothest Repsol!  I can’t even imagine the technical hurdles that went into this!

Seattle seems to have a great motorcycle Scene.  Here’s A few more choice bikes from his album.  Go check it out.  LOTS more there.

Some more cool old school..

Kurt adds to the collection!

Steve, your site is one of the great things about having a computer. As per your request, here’s a couple pics. The first is my dad in about 1940 on a ‘34 Harley VL and the second is me in 1979 on a ‘78 Yamaha XS1100. I hope you enjoy them even if you don’t use them. Thanks, Kurt

Wow! Your old man had it going on! And wheeling an XS1100 is no small feat!
