… for having the smarts to still build and sell a decent sized 2 stroke MX bike! I wager that they still sell at fair clip. I’m surprised that they don’t have an enduro version to go with it. Except for KTM (as far as I can tell) they are pretty much alone.

You need to see the “Gas Gas” line as they still have some awesome 2 strokes available.

Check out Husaberg, Gas Gas, Sherco(only smallbores), and also the new offering from Ossa(although, it’s rumoured to have foregone the DI rearward-canted cylinder engine with a GasGas 2T in place of it for the time being).
The 2T is not dead at all, and with all of the new DI technology out there – will likely make a huge comeback as a rival engine design…JMO, though.
Yamaha loves 2 strokes as much as Honda hates them.
Yamaha was also the first to have a competitive 4-stroke motocrosser of the new era.
