Really cool converted BMW dualsport K75 “Brick”

There’s an interesting thread over on ADV rider called “converted dual sports” where folks convert all manner of unusual rides into some form of off roar or dual sport bike. A lot of it can be nothing more than thick tread tires on a UJM inline four but every once in a while there’s a really inspired and well crafted creation. Todd was kind enough to give me permission to re-post pics of his work in progress here. He mentioned that there’s a sturdy piece of aluminum waiting to be bent into a bash plate for under the engine. He says there’s more on the way so this post may get updated a little in the near future.

It’s such a nice fit for the style that I’m surprised that BMW never built one themselves. Great build Todd. Thanks!

Wow! Stunner of a Kaffee-Maschine Moto Guzzi.

I’ve been overdue for a nice Guzzi and Axel Budde remedies that by sending in this absolute stunner!!

He writes in:

This custom cafe racer was built for Gustav Larsson, living in Monaco.

The donor bike was a Le Mans 3. The engine was modified with 950ccm cylinders, balanced crank drive, performance cam, electronic double ignition and a lighter clutch. It already had a rare, straight geared racing transmission, which was revised. Wheels are Morad with stainless spokes.
Shocks are Ikon, the fork got new tubes and Fac dampers. A minimal electrical system including a motogadget instrument was built. ALL special components on the bike are handcrafted.
Dry weight is 180kg, power is 82hp.

“Kaffeemaschine” (coffee machine) is my company, building unique cafe racers and bespoke bikes, based on the classic Guzzi V2-engine and frame.
I´d be very glad if you would mention and link my webside “www.kaffee-maschine.net“.

Please let me know when you are going to post my stuff.
If you have any more questions or need more info, don´t hesitate to contact me.

Best regards from Hamburg/Germany,
Axel Budde

Sorry… been busy wrenching.

Old faithful lost compression and had a base gasket leak anyway. Why on earth would Suzuki ever put a paper base gasket on a single cylinder 650 is a mystery to me. Of course I have a 2000 and they went to metal on the 2004’s. So here’s where I’m at. :/ After years of wrenching on multi cylinder 2 strokes it’s freaking comical to me how big the bore is on this bike. And they used to make an 800! Oh and yes, that’s my blood on there. No harm. Just a knick.

Please hang in there, I’ll have some regular posts up shortly.

Here she is in happier times. Soon to return!

Wow! Over 750,000 Pageviews!

With all this houskeeping and updating I just happened to notice the counter on the bottom of the page (which I rarely look at anymore for some reason).   And to be hones I had about a half million on the old page so combined I’m way over a million hits between this site and the old blogger site!

So THANKS.. err…  a MILLION!
