Hello,

I just wanted to drop a quick note about a little bike I’ve finished
up recently. It started life as a run-down little 1963 Bridgestone
BS-7/D. I decided to do a bit of a cafe/racer look to it, using as
many Bridgestone parts as possible, and without hacking up any of the
original BS-7 parts in the process. The end result is a good little
runner, complete with a BS90 Sport fuel tank and set of BS90 front
telescopic shocks. I did a bit of porting on the original 50cc
stroker, built a pipe, and installed a bigger 19mm carb. It will see
close to 60mph if I get a long enough run!

Hope you enjoy it!

Chris H.

Cool pipe too! I love projects like this. Really unique and must be a lot of fun to blast around on.
Thanks!

Another great build from Jason Moore who’s e-mail message was again trapped in my spam filter. This time a 1974 Honda Cl 125 Sorry about that Jason. It’s happening so often that I may just start a sub category for it. Oh and be sure to check out his blog. Good stuff.

Hey, Just finished my CB125 for my wife. 1974, converted to 12 volts. Internally sprung forks, custom fiberglass seat, clip-ons with internal throttle cable, scrambler pipe with internal baffle. Sweat paint job with matching retro helmet. Check out my blog to see my past and future builds. http://flyingjcustoms.blogspot.com/

I see from your blog that you’ve since sold it but that “find” you had on the bad side of town looks like it has possibilities.

Beauty of a Norton… 75 MkIII Commando

And it’s for sale! (No I don’t know the bike or the owner)

If I were to do another “Top 10” of all time list this bike might be near the top. God those lines are sweet..

Saweeeet little build! Yet more proof that you don’t need big bucks to build cool bikes. I’d have killed for something like this once upon a time…

A Stunningly Beautiful Hand Crafted Yamaha RD350 Cafe Racer.

I followed the build thread for this bike for quite a while over on the 2 Stroke World Forum and today I got an e-mail from Ben Alameda with these fantastic pics! I’m a huge fan Ben! Thanks Much!

Hey there,
Love the blog I always follow up on it every week. Here are some pics of my custom 1973 rd350, I hand made all the aluminum body work and fenders from scratch. I also designed and built the pipes myself from stainless. The front wheel is a highly modified motoguzzi eldorado hub which was machined heavily, I added airscoops to both the front and rear drums. I also reinforced the frame with gussets.

What a beauty. I’ve tried banging out a few panels over the years and this sort of skill is almost god given. I don’t often get envious but this is one of those times. Just superb!

From Joshua over at Bugged Shutter:

Just thought i’d send some pics to you. Motorcycle POTD is a great website and in much a great inspiration for someone like me who builds motorcycles in my backyard. I hope you keep the good work up for a long time to come.
A bit more about the bike. It’s an RD350 which is modded a bit. It’s got raised ports and is running on a RDDreams Digital ignition, with bigger carbon fibre reeds. The chassis has been spared all the excess lugs and mounting while the rear sets, the fuel filler and all the other billet stuff built by me. A custom wiring harness, LED lights, and braided brake hoses complete the package. Hope you like it and it finds a place on your site.

Cheers
Joshua

“Ugly” Ironhead.

I have buddy who is practically trying to give me one of these in running but rough shape. Even though it’s not really my “thing”, I may have to take him up on it. Thanks to Ugly Motorbikes. They have a nice CB650 build in their video’s that’s well worth a look.

The CB650’s (not yet completed here) is nice too.
