More scooter pics from the Himalayas.

More from Martin Victor Alva :
Hello Steve,
Here are a couple more photos of my rides in the Himalayas. We also took 50cc two stroke mopeds to the Himalayas. My disc crashed and most photos got destroyed. I had this one in my sent mail so i found it.

The other one is from my Adventure motorcycle riding company called Vista Adventures. We organise guided tours in India and that photo is of my Royal Enfield from June this year.
Regards

WOW!

Double Wow!

An outstanding “modernized” Yamaha FJ1200.

I stumbled across this bike on a two stroke message board of all places.  It’s one of my all time favorite bikes done up with some very tasty modern suspension upgrades. Thanks very much to Tim (AKA: axiom-r) for all the great pics and for permission to post these.    If you’re interested in the build thread along with more cool pics, go check out the FJ owners message board. Great Stuff!

Budget minded Wanderlust! Scooters to the top of the world.

Martin Victor sends in these photos and links from this absolutely amazing adventure.  These have been making the rounds on the web but they are well worth a mention.  Great stuff!

Me and my friends rode some scooters to the highest village on earth. It would be really great if you could feature these on your website. The name of the Village is Kaumic, it’s about 4300 meters (over 14,000 feet) high. We rode in May 2008. All these three are two stroke scooters. The make and model are, 1. Bajaj Chetak, 2. LML Vespa Select, 3. Kinetic Honda DX. The Kinetic is a non-geared scooter. They cost us a 100 dollars each. We mixed cooking oil in the petrol because we couldn’t find 2T (2 stroke) oil high up in the mountains.

I have many more photos here http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?p=16758927

If you could post my twitter id @motorbikeman along with the post then it would help me a great deal to network with like minded people.

Thank you,
Martin

My pleasure Martin. It’s a fantastic adventure. Thank you for sharing!

Wow! Quasimoto! A very appropriate name!

Richard Hinely sent this in a while back and I misplaced it in the e-mail explosion I’ve been getting lately. Really unusual and interesting idea. I imagine the geometry is anything but textbook but I have to admit that it looks cool as hell (to me anyway). I bet you could do some CRAZY stoppies!

Here are a few shots of my take on a cafe/supermoto hybrid. It’s a 2000 Honda XR650R with a 2004 or so CBR600RR front end. Handles a bit odd with too much rear wheel travel for really fast cornering, but still hauls booty! It jumped off my trailer on I-75 outside Atlanta and destroyed the front end, so it is now undergoing a conversion to full supermoto with a stock XR front end. Love your website, by the way!

Cool stuff. Thanks Richard and sorry for the holdup in posting it.

Thanks Everyone! 100,000 visits in August! Best Month Ever!

We blew up a little last month. Thanks to everyone for stopping by!

Wanderlust… I’ve never gone on a guided tour ride…

But if I had the time I might seriously consider this one…

More 2-stroke trackday video. This time a perfectly tuned TZ350 on some fast laps!

More Trackday 2-Stroke video. I don’t think he got passed once?

Hello ! Thank you for forwarding my TZ 750 video a little while ago. My father, who’s turning 60 in a few months, is the one riding it.
Here is a video of me taking a TZ 350 for a spin. The RPM counter is broken. The location is Dijon Prenois racetrack, France. Feel free to forward it !

Wow! That’s a great wounding bike.

Really interesting Museum / Collection of bikes.

Thanks to Kenneth Pantling who writes in with an interesting album…

This place is in North Walsham, Norfolk, UK, about 6 miles from where I live. It is really the storage area/collection for a couple of guys who do restorations. They charge a very modest amount just to look around but it’s worth every penny.

Reader Ride! A killer KTM motard build!

A killer KTM build! Thanks to Joe Banks who writes in:
Hi there, love the twostroke blog and the pic of the day. Enjoyed the Stormer you just featured, took me back to my first full build,a 370 Stormer when I was 14 in an old pigsty.
At 40(ish) I seem to have ended up with another ex pigsty to work in, funny how life goes in circles.
Anyway, this is the latest piglet, not sure if its your thing but thought I’d send the pics anyway, I love it. It’s a 525exc bored to 540,flowed head,8/33 cam etc, in a supermoto/flatracker style. Lots of power and probably weighs in less than I do.
Keep up the good work, Joe.

That is NO pig Joe. Love it! I can think of some roads where this beauty would be right at home.
