A very worthy custom Aprilia for a very worthy cause!

Hi MCPOTD!

We at the Making A Difference (M.A.D.) Ride have just unveiled our 2012 one of a kind – custom Aprilia RSV4 APRC that is being raffled for charity.
All proceeds go to spinal injury research and rehabilitation.
“The Making a Difference Ride Inc. is a charity formed by members of the Perth motorcycle community to raise money for spinal injury research and rehabilitation. Our primary beneficiary is Royal Perth Hospital Shenton Park Spinal Unit.”
Many thanks,

Here’s a really stylish old Maico 175.

Two things I REALLY love about this bike. First it’s a really cool old two stroke in a scrambler style that I don’t know much about (can anyone fill us in a bit?)…. and second the owner is OBVIOUSLY using it as it was intended! Fantastic!

Thanks again to Astericx!

The Latest from Murph!

As usual, He’s been busy!

Hi Steve,

Hope all is ok with you and the “Total Chaos” was not too serious. I’m up in Sweden at present, on the way to Stockholm and then on to North Cape.
I had a chance encounter with a gal in a bookstore in Eindhoven in Holland, I was there purchasing a map of Russia for my trip there in December.

She asked about my trip and had seen me on a TV station there, she was thrilled to meet me. She had a boyfriend who died of cancer 1 year ago and wanted to give me a necklace she had made for him to carry with me on my Round the World trip. That led to her signing my Drive Away Cancer decal on the dash of the sidecar and and shortly thereafter my friend John, who started Drive Away Cancer, and I, started Ride Away Cancer.

My first sidecar patient was 17 year old Daniil, whom I met when I stopped by a Hospital in Copenhagen. There will, I hope, be many more encounters and chances for me to brighten up someones day and put a smile on their face with a 20 minute sidecar ride as I travel the globe.
There are probably many of your readers whose friends or family may have been touched by this disease.

Regards from Sweden Steve and many thanks for your continued support,

Murph.

A Sweet Honda CB175 set up for Land Speed Racing!

Vincient Fyie sends in another of his builds (he’s been a regular on here several times) that I like almost more than words will convey! Talk about a great break from convention! Great build Vincent!

He writes in:

This is the latest bike I put together for my granddaughter to race. Built for the Overhead Cam Twin ECTA class at the “Ohio Mile” in Wilmington, Ohio. Class had an “open” record so she is now the record holder! Did something a little different on the seat and it got a lot of attention at last week’s meet. Just got the bike together so no work on the engine yet.

Sorry folks. I had a medium sized dose of chaos here combined with just a pinch of “burnout”…

Sorry folks. I had a big dose of chaos here combined with a pinch of “burnout” here so I just forced myself to take a break. I should have been more upfront but it more or less just crept over me and held on.

The good news is I’m back on track with some nice submittals waiting to go and the even better news (for me anyway) is that I’ve fueled my photography fire with some sweet new Nikon DSLR equipment. WAY overdue, especially for a photography based blog. The old Olympus was (still IS actually) a great little camera but it was past to upgrade.

Anyway, blah blah blah… Back to our regularly scheduled programming. Stay tuned.

ATK! 620cc of pure frickin’ two stroke terror!

Lord i do miss the big open classers!  Point!  Shoot!  And Hang the hell on!!!
