Reader Ride! Wicked little Kawasaki KZ200 Street Tracker.

Gifny Richata from Indonesia sends in these pictures of his fantastic KZ200 street-tracker.  This is more proof that you don’t need big dollars and big engines to build really cool bikes.

Hello,
I’m Gifny Richata from Indonesia, and I just want to show you some pics of my recently built custom bike. It’s a 1981 Kawak KZ200. I just want to share the joy I have building this bike and want to thank you for showing cool bikes through your blog, which some of them really inspired me to build my own.
I’m working as a concept artist/illustrator and started my own studio ( http://www.oraystudios.com ) and now with my friend Nandang, a mechanic who helped me building this bike, we’re gonna start a small custom bike garage called Hajarbroxx motorcycles, and hopefully we’ll start making really cool bikes in near future…

cheers,
Gifny

Fantastic Stuuf!  When you start your business please send me pictures of whatever you have.  I love these sorts of builds.  Big imagination with reasonable budgets.

Reader Ride! Those fine XS650’s keep on coming!

Everyone has a few bikes that they have a soft spot for.  If you’ve been following this site I’m sure you’ve noticed that Moto Guzzi has a lot of allure to me.  Another bike that I’m especially fond of is the Yamaha XS650.  It’s such a timeless bike that I really don’t understand why Yamaha doesn’t still sell it.  If you search this site you’ll fins XS650’s set up as fantastic roadracers, bobbers, choppers, vintage motocrossers, and especially flat trackers.  I have no doubt that if Yamaha still sold a nice basic, shouldered rimed aluminum wheeled, XS650 that people would still be buying them and turning them into everything under the sun.  I suppose that the Triumph Bonneville has sort of become the newer version of the older XS… which is probably why you’ll find so many bonnys on here too.

Anyway all this philosophizing was triggered by this latest reader ride.  I’ve wanted to build one of these for years now and this picture may just put me over the top.  This was sent in by Jeff Corcoran.

Outrageous Turbocharged Harley Street Tracker / Street Fighter or… whatever…

Sure it’s a big corporate sponsored show bike (which I usually don’t go in for) but the creative routing of the exhaust straight off the turbocharger is just too freaking cool.

UPDATE: Very Tasty Harley Davidson Streettracker / Bobber.

UPDATE: From the comments. BikeEXIF mentions that the bike was built by Tramp Cycles and that there’s an article on the bike over on PIPEBURN.  Thanks much for the heads up and whle we’re on the subject be sure to stop by BikeEXIF on a regular basis.  Always excellent stuff over there.

Street Tracker, Bobber, Cafe… Whatever it is it’s cool as hell. Nicest Sporty I’ve seen in a long while.

A Beautiful Custom Street Tracker Style Vincent behind a White Pickett Fence

I just love this tracker style on a Vincent. Really well executed. I found this bike anonymously posted on The Adventure Rider site. If anyone has any specific info on the builder it’d be much appreciated.

The Cycle World "Budget Build" E-bay special Street Tracker from last months issue.

I read the article on this bike and while it’s a cool project I think it really skewed things a lot having the owner / builder of Mule Motorcycles essentially create this bike. I’d wager that it’d be a little tough for even a good amateur to put a bike like this together for $8500. Not without falling into a LOT of lucky deals on parts. It’s stil a cool ride though.

Credit and thanks to to to suzukijo for the pics…
