Name that motorcycle and model.

Kind of an easy one but what the heck. Yes obviously it’s a Royal Enfield. But what’s unusual about it. For the answer see this thread over on ADV Rider.



  1. It´s an Enfield Taurus, the only Diesel bike Enfield ever produced. It has a 6,5HP engine and a top speed of 65-75km/h if you´re lucky. Consumption is 1,5 liters per 100km! Production has ceased meanwhile though.

  2. There is a small shifter behind the kick starter on the transmission. Is that a high/low range shifter? I had a Suzuki 230 with much the same configuration.
