Moving this to the top for a bit since so many folks had questions about it.
Update 3: Found the build thread! An alert reader over on ADV rider found the build thread on this bike. A lot of folks have been asking for more info so here you go!
From the comments (Thanks SakeRacer). More info Here: http://www.pipeburn.com/home/2010/9/9/1973-yamaha-rd250-street-tracker.html
Sorry to Pipeburn. I didn’t realize it originated on their site. TONS of great stuff over there so check them out often.
My observant commentors make some good points about the classification of this bike. Tracker of Bobber? I see a lot of elements of both styles here and to be honest I’m not crazy about pigeon holing bikes all that much so lets call it a tracker-bobber. Whatever you call it it’s still freaking cool!
That’s got backroad fun written all over it.
man, where u found it??????????
Looks kühl, but why is it a bobber? I would have called it a flat tracker. Can anybody tell me the difference?
i agreee with u!
it looks indeed like a pseudo flat-tracker…
or u can call it an old-style enduro!!
THE BLOGGER IS THE MAN!
HE DECIDES HIS TITLES!!!
RIGHT MR STEVE???
Rofu makes an excellent point. I actually struggled with the classification for a bit. It CLEARLY has tracker influences. The (very cool)single sided exhaust pipes for one. I think the minimalist look with no fenders and the knobby tires pushes it sort of toward the Bobber side of the fence though. There is definitely some excellent elements of both styles there.
hei steve….u’re the boss!
it’s a nice blog u’re keeping going here!
Hope it didn’t sound smart-assy. I am not so familiar with all the different styles and it was an honest question. Got my answer. Thanx. Go on with distracting me from work every day. 😉
Where did you find those pics Steve, I’d love to read more about this bike.
i just discovered this:
