  1. We had a 1966 Chrysler Newport with a dashboard that didn’t work; so no idiot lights. On the way to work with the drill rig crew, a radiator hose blew but we didn’t notice until the engine locked up. We hitch-hiked to work and I came back later to pull the plates. Then we got a call from the Colorado Highway Patrol telling me they IDed the car before I pulled the plates and I had to tow it. All we had was my ’68 shovelhead so Nina steered the car and I pulled it home — Parachute to Grand Junction.

    In those days — circa 1980 — we weren’t any smarter than the fellow in the video. And probably had a similar bank balance.

    Ever seen someone “straightleg” his buddy to a gas station. That impressed me.
