Saw this over on the Good Spark Garage Video Library over on Vimeo where they have a lot of great stuff. Check em out.
Anyway I’m fascinated to hear his opinion comparing Vintage to modern Japanese to electric.

Nice interview.
The fear is that, in the future, motorcycles will be close to perfect; but they will also be soulless.
There will be no need to interact with them as a mechanic. They will make no sound, require no attention, and provoke no passion.
My thought exactly Randy. I think we’re almost there as it is. FI and engine mapping already take most of the soul out of bikes. It’s why I like my old thumpers and 2 strokes.
I know, right? It’s more fun to ride a BSA or Matchless single than most modern Japanese bikes of the same displacement. Heck, it’s more fun to *listen* to one of those old thumpers than do anything with most modern bikes!
Having just read Big Sid’s Vincati, this interview confirmed who I imagined Big Sid to be from that story. Thanks for sharing.
