RIP Gary Nixon.

A motorcycle racing legend. He was a cantankerous man with a nose for the checkered flag.

A very good write-up on him can be found HERE

Here he is in Daytona 2004 going at it (as he often did) with Jay Springstien (another famous #9 racer). I was there that year for this race. Saw him ride the hell out of that track many times.

  1. Thanks for everything, Gary. I remember you very well. I am sure I have your autograph around here somewhere. Maybe I have several of them. I remember seeing you at the Springfield Mile and also at Hinsdale. For a while I worked at Harley Davidson (along with Eric Buehl and Springstein) and I do remember seeing you at Road America. You put a lot of excitement into my life, and the lives of many, many others. I wish you peace, love, happiness and joy. You will never be forgotten.
